INGREDIENTS: Distilled water, grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, watermelon extract, ginkgo biloba extract (and) olive leaf extract (and) white tea extract (and) green tea extract; edelweiss extract, rosehip seed oil, hydroxyethyl acrylate (and) sodium acryloyldimethyl (and) taurate copolymer, lactobacillus ferment, coenzyme Q10, tocopherol, fragrance, phenoxyethanol
INGREDIENTS EXPLAINED:
Grapeseed oil: Grapeseed oil is a fast-absorbing, non-greasy oil. It is also a good oil for combo/oily skin, as it won’t cause breakouts either. It has a high concentration of antioxidants and unsaturated fatty acids. It is present in this formula as a fast-absorbing emollient.
Jojoba oil: Jojoba oil is a lightweight, fast-absorbing oil with a structure similar to that of sebum, which is produced by the skin. It is a great emollient to use in formulas for oily/combo skin because it won’t cause breakouts. In this formula, it is present as a fast-absorbing emollient.
Watermelon extract: It turns out that watermelon plants produce solutes that protect cells against drought, heat & UV-rays via a DNA-protecting mechanism. It will improve the appearance of aged and stressed skin and reduce the appearance of skin redness after UV irradiation.
Ginkgo biloba extract (and) olive leaf extract (and) white tea extract (and) green tea extract: Antioxidant complex that has been shown to help mitigate skin damage from UVB rays and reduce inflammation.
Edelweiss extract: This flower extract is a potent antioxidant. Its active components include: bisabolane, sitosterol, tannin, chlorogenic acid, apigenin-7-glucoside, luteolin, luteolin-4-glucoside. It has VERY high radical scavenging activity, with twice the antioxidant activity of Vitamin C. This allows it to both protect skin and to improve the appearance of aged/stressed skin.
Rosehip oil: Rosehip seed oil has loads of antioxidants and unsaturated fatty acids, so it is very anti-inflammatory. In this formula, it is present as an emollient and anti-inflammatory active.
Hydroxyethyl acrylate / sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer: This ingredient is the gelling agent for the serum. It is a Hydro-Swelling Droplet (HSD) form of emulsifier, and is used for cold emulsions, in which no ingredients are heated during the formulation of the product.
Lactobacillus ferment: This ingredient is a preservative, and is responsible for preventing the growth of bacteria, mold, fungus, yeast, etc.
CoQ10: Coenzyme Q10 is a fat-soluble substance present in every cell of the human body. It serves as a coenzyme vital to production of energy within cells. It is also a very powerful antioxidant or free radical scavenger. Coenzyme Q10 is encapsulated in liposomes also containing vitamin E and vitamin C to maintain activity, enhance skin penetration and potency. Accompanying vitamin E and vitamin C are needed to activate coenzyme to its active state.
Tocopherol: Tocopherol is Vitamin E, and acts as a preservative in this formula, preventing the oxidation of the oils in the product and increasing the shelf life.
Fragrance: This is the scent that is added to the product. Fragrance oil manufacturers are not required by law to disclose what compounds are in their fragrance oils. However, some will tell you what is NOT in their fragrance oils, and I base my fragrance oil purchases on this information. I make sure my fragrance oils are free of phthalates and known carcinogens. Because fragrance may be a source of irritation in a product formula, I offer all my products fragrance free as well as scented.
Phenoxyethanol: This ingredient is a preservative, and is responsible for preventing the growth of bacteria, mold, fungus, yeast, etc.

I love this stuff and use it daily. I have normal skin in the summer and dry skin in the winter, so I add a moisturizer over this when I’m having a dry skin day. But in the summer this is just the right amount to keep my skin hydrated and dewy without feeling heavy and greasy. Plus, I love that it pumps up the SPF on my sunscreen.
