INGREDIENTS EXPLAINED:
Palmitoyl tripeptide-1 (and) Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7: Two extracellular matrix peptides that are messengers of skin regeneration and repair, these two peptides work synergistically to restore and maintain the skin’s healthy appearance. The result is a lessening of wrinkle depth and a firmer skin tone.
Strawberry Seed Oil: Strawberry seed oil helps strengthen your protective skin barrier, encourages skin cell turnover for a brighter complextion, and soften skin. It is a lightweight oil that contains antioxidants and minerals.
Centella asiatica-Infused Hibiscus Oil: Hibiscus oil is a deeply hydrating oil rich in antioxidants. It helps stimulate skin cell turnover and protects against hard water damage. Centella asiatica is an herb that has been shown to massively stimulate wound healing in skin, stimulating collagen production like a mofo. I infused the hibiscus oil with centella for the skin cell turnover benefits. This will help result in a brighter, smoother complexion.
Moringa Oil: Moringa oil is deeply moisturizing and anti-inflammatory. It helps prevent trans-epidermal water loss and provides intense moisture.
Ricebran Oil: Ricebran oil is sourced from the bran or outer coat of brown rice grains, extracted during the milling process. It is a rich source of barrier repairing fatty acids, among them oleic acid, linoleic acid, and palmitic acid. It is also rich in antioxidants, making it anti-inflammatory as well.
Tetrapeptide-21: When collagen breaks down, it forms specific tetrapeptides that signal to your skin that it was damaged and needs to make new collagen. So by applying tetrapeptides topically, your skin believes it has lost collagen recently and needs to make more. Tetrapeptide-21 activates collagen production and stimulates the production of fresh, new skin.
Sea Kelp Extract (and) Bakuchi Fruit Extract (and) Plankton Extract (and) Ginger Root Extract (and) Edelweiss Extract (and) Watermelon Fruit Extract (and) Sodium hyaluronate: A blend of botanical extracts that brightens, firms, and reduces the appearance of pores and wrinkles.
Hydroxyethyl acrylate / sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer: This ingredient is the gelling agent for the serum. It is a Hydro-Swelling Droplet (HSD) form of emulsifier, and is used for cold emulsions, in which no ingredients are heated during the formulation of the product.
Lactobacillus ferment: This ingredient is a preservative, and is responsible for preventing the growth of bacteria, mold, fungus, yeast, etc.
Tocopherol: Tocopherol is Vitamin E, and acts as a preservative in this formula, preventing the oxidation of the oils in the product and increasing the shelf life.
Retinol: Retinol is the gold standard in anti-aging active ingredients. It is one of the few actives that has been thoroughly researched and clinically proven to reduce wrinkle depth. It acts by stimulating skin cell turnover, bringing fresh, new skin cells to the surface for a brighter complexion. NOTE: Retinol breaks down in the presence of UV, so if you are using a retinol-containing product during the day, be sure to sunscreen up.
Hyaluronic Acid: HA is one of skin’s own natural moisturizing factors. It is hygroscopic, meaning it is able to pull moisture from its environment, which makes it great for a non-greasy addition to formulas meant to moisturize skin. It has antioxidant and antibacterial activity as well. The form used in this formula has been hydrolyzed (chopped into small pieces) in order to penetrate more deeply into skin.
Fragrance: This is the scent that is added to the product. Fragrance oil manufacturers are not required by law to disclose what compounds are in their fragrance oils. However, some will tell you what is NOT in their fragrance oils, and I base my fragrance oil purchases on this information. I make sure my fragrance oils are free of phthalates and known carcinogens. Because fragrance may be a source of irritation in a product formula, I offer all my products fragrance free as well as scented.
Phenoxyethanol: This ingredient is a preservative, and is responsible for preventing the growth of bacteria, mold, fungus, yeast, etc.
