Just a friendly reminder that every red bump you get is not a pimple, and every flaky patch is not dry skin. If your red bumps are tiny and/or come with redness, it may be dermatitis/eczema. Similarly, dry patches are how inflammation presents on the skin, so your dry, flaky patch may be eczema or an inflammatory response to an irritant. You definitely do NOT want to treat dermatitis with anti-acne products, or try to exfoliate away your dry patches, you will create a very dramatic situation. My advice? Reach for an anti-inflammatory product first. They will rapidly clear up dermatitis/eczema. If you use anti-inflammatories and nothing happens, then try your other methods. Anti-inflammatories include ingredients like cucumber extract, aloe vera juice/gel, chamomile extract, calendula extract, oatmeal, bisabolol, allantoin, and all tea extracts, to name a few. Try these first if you aren’t sure what you are dealing with. #themoreyouknow
